From the cover, this book stresses on the word "one". Throughout the book, he stresses the word "one".
Now, I want you to look at what you are doing as you are reading this. Are you listening to music, eating, or just reading?
I want you to ask yourselves, "Do I like multitasking?" My answer before reading this book was a YES. And I was even proud of that.
It changed after reading this book.

"If you chase two rabbits, .....you will not catch either one"- Russian Proverb
The book begins like this. I was thinking well, I can catch both of them, but I realized how inefficient my method is.
It is very important to focus on the ONE important thing in your life right now. Is it financial problems? Then, drop the rest of your concerns and focus on improving your financial situation. Stop caring about the new movie, how you look, or what menu you should eat for dinner. Focus on the ONE thing that matters the most for you right now. One good example of this is the Mark Zuckerberg shirt rule. He only wears one kind of shirt because choosing what to wear takes away his focus.
Success doesn't happen over night. It doesn't happen simultaneously. Just because you accomplished something, success is not going to magically happen. Success is sequential: you have to build it.
What do Starbucks, KFC, and Coors have in common other than the fact that they are super successful companies? They narrowed down and focused on one kind of food. Instead of trying 10 different types of food, they focused on one food and constantly improved it. That's what led them to success.
"Things that are most important don't always scream the loudest"- Bob Hawke
Now, success to some people may seem like trying to do more than average people. But it isn't a game of doing the most.
Then, how do you know what to do?
It's quite simple: follow people's footsteps
Don't try to do so much at once. Have you tried to make two important decisions at once? Well, I tried, and I was overwhelmed and made bad decisions. If you give one decision your full brain power, you are more likely to be able to make a decision you won't regret. Whether you are working on a project or having to decide on the purchase of a million dollar company, try to go small and focus.
This is the most important nugget I took away. Might be a little different, but I found it tremendously helpful.
Everyone will tell you balance your life whether its with your family, friends, or social groups. However, you can't accomplish much if you are living a "balanced" life. You have to be extreme. Extreme workaholic to be successful. Extremely care about your family to be a good father. But, if you are living a "balanced life", it won't take you far. You have to be extreme, but you have to "counterbalance". I like the word counterbalance. When you are spending too much time at work, make it up by spending extra time with your family. Gary Keller says that a good life is counterbalanced.
Think of a big focus. What kind of person would you want to be in 10 years?
Then, narrow it down and have a small focus. Don't be scared of failure, it will happen one day.
So be bold with careful planning.
Live with a purpose, it will make you have a sense of fulfillment.
This book was very helpful for me, I learned a lot from it. It is one of my favorite books I have read, and would definitely recommend you guys to try reading it. You won't regret it.
Stay strong, keep reading.
Special thank you to Bard for sending me a review copy of this book.
